CARE & MAINTENANCE
Because of its natural components, linoleum is known to have the yellowing surface when it is initially taken out of the packaging. This is just TEMPORARY until your new floor is exposed to sunlight. The amount of time it will take your floor to bloom- become its true color- will depend on the exposure to light.
CLEANING
Simply sweep or vacuum your floor frequently in order to avoid dirt build up. Do not use any abrasive or aggressive cleaners or solvents. Simply sweep and mop with a well wrung -out sponge with neutral detergent (pH of 6 to 8) or cleaners that mist over the surface and damp mop as you go. Rinse the floor with a clean mop. The floor must be thoroughly rinsed to remove all detergent. It is not a good idea to use the old bucket-and-mop method, as excess moisture will cause swelling at the seams. When required, scrub the flooring with a standard scrubbing machine or an automatic scrubber equipped with a red scrubbing pad. Use mineral spirits to remove stubborn dirt. Spills and spots should be cleaned immediately by using red polyester pad moistened with detergent.
PRECAUTIONS
Spills should be cleaned immediately. Chairs with casters should have minimum 2 wide casters and a chair mat may be necessary. Make sure the furniture and chair feet are covered with coasters. DO NOT use acetone or similar materials to clean flooring.
FINISHING
Nova Distinctive Floors recommends putting additional coats of finish after your floor is installed. (See below for recommended care products). Spray buff the floor with a white buffing pad and a floor polish/finish. Make sure to follow the instructions of the manufacturer. The polish can be stripped and reapplied on an as needed bases.
