BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry and smooth, free of voids, loose material, grease, oil, sealers and any other impediments. Maximum floor variation is 1/8� in 10�. Surface areas requiring patching or leveling must be repaired prior to installation of underlayment.

NovaCork Underlayment: Available in 6mm sheets (in 2�x3� sheets 300 sq/ft), 6 mm rolls (5�x40� roll 200 sq/ft.) and 12mm sheets (in 2�x3� sheets 150 sq/ft).

STEP 1

Unroll NovaCork underlayment and cut sections approximately 2� wide off roll. Vertically adhere this isolation barrier around the perimeter of the entire floor with Dritac 6200. Never fasten the isolation barrier with screws, nails or staples as this will severely diminish the acoustical values of the barrier.

STEP 2

Cut cork to length and lay cork loosely over the area to be covered. Both ends of the cork must curl down towards sub floor, if the ends curl up, turn the underlayment over. Butt the cork directly against the isolation barrier already installed.

STEP 3

Pull the loose laid material back at least half the length of the run. Using a 3/16� x 5/32� v-notch trowel for cork greater than ��, or 1/8�x1/8�x1/8� square notch trowel for �� thick cork or less, apply the subfloor adhesive (Dritac 6200) to the sub floor. Allow Dritac 6200 to flash for 30-40 minutes prior to placing cork into adhesive. Lay the cork back over the adhesive and roll in both directions with a 100 lb roller. Repeat procedure for the remaining side of this run. Proceed to cover the entire floor making sure all joints are butted together tightly.

STEP 4

Allow the adhesive to set prior to installing finish floor.
